History of the Shelburne Fire Department

 

Shelburne Fire Department was started in 1941. At the time, there were 10 members:

 

  • Wentworth S. Bicknell

  • C. K. Byington

  • Joseph R. Catella

  • B. Harris Maeck

  • Leo T. Monniere

  • Leo J. Monniere

  • Raymond Noonan

  • Fred Roberts

  • Clayton Shortsleves

  • J. Lynwood Smith

Below is a photo of our first station. The structure was used for 42 years.

 

In 1983 our current station was was built on the same spot.

The Shelburne Fire Department now has approx. 30 active members, of which 6 are officers.
