Marine 1

Marine 1

Shelburne Marine 1, put in service in 2013, is a 23-foot Boston Whaler that was built in 1990. This boat, purchased from a private individual in California, was originally built for the U.S. Navy and was used by an Explosive Ordnance Demolition team in San Diego. The vessel includes a 60-inch wide removable dive door, a stainless steel keel protector and transom guards. It was repowered in 2009 with a Honda 225-horsepower, 4-stroke, ultra-low emission V-tech outboard motor. During boating season Marine 1 is kept in the water on Lake Champlain for water rescue, to investigate distress calls and carry out other tasks as they may be assigned to us by the U.S. Coast Guard.
